Keep smiling, Haruma-kun 🤍

Amo dya si Haruma Miura (born April 5, 1990)... ginkibot na ana mga fans (dara dun ako) with his passing last July 18. He was only 30. He was one of the most promising performers of his generation, in film, television and stage roles kag masubo that we lost him too soon.

Si Haruma Miura ang isa sa mga Japanese actors nga kilala ko gid by name (and for me that is quite rare hay mas gatutok gani ako sa character rather than the actor, pasencya sa mga urihi ko lang nakilala... ehem ehem Binnie, Pope & Tian-Tian) What makes it different with Haruma? Hay raku dun ako nalantawan sa mga films/series na and even then makahambal gid ko nga ka talented kay toto. It's like I grew up (figuratively) watching his films kag doramas hay buhay dun gid man tana nga actor. Nag-umpisa tana at 7 years old and appeared in a number of commercially and critically acclaimed films, television series, and stage productions. Ginkapoy dun guro tana hay temprano pa nag-umpisa kag ginpili na nga magpahuway it dayon.

Samtang ginakasubo naton ang ana pagtaliwan, handurawon ta anay ang iban sa mga iconic films nga ana ginbilin. 😥😥😥

Koizora (Sky of Love, 2007)

Amo gid dya ang una ko nalantawan nga nayanggaw ako sa mga Japanese movies. It got everything: teenage angst, drama, romance, terminal illness... First impression ko, daad gindrama da lang dya imbes nga gindasuk tanan sa isa ka film.

Amo dya ang breakthough film ni Miura where he played Sakurai Hiroki. Hiro is a former delinquent notable by his dyed hair. He later discovers he has cancer and stages a disinterest in Mika (Yui Aragaki) so as not to make her sad.

Miura was named Best Newcomer of the Year at the Japanese Academy Awards for his performance as Hiro, the bad boy with a heart of gold.

I find this sappy dialogue at that time but with what happened... kamo dun bahala kun ano batyagon nyo:

Hiro: Where do humans go after they die? Mika: Heaven. Hiro: I want to be the sky. So I always know where you are. Mika: Like a stalker. [Hiro smiles] 😭😭😭

Kimi ni Todoke (From Me to You, 2010)

Another live-action adaptation ka manga of the same title. Nalantawan ko ang anime and I totally enjoyed it. Kag ang movie nga dya is truthful sa ana source material kag perfect ang casting sa leads especially si Mikako Tabe as Sawako Kuronuma.

Miura goes full-blown Prince Charming as Kazehaya Shouta, the handsome, popular and outgoing boy who sees the beauty and value in his bullied classmate Sawako, labelled as “Sadako” for her vague resemblance to the murderous ghost in The Ring (horror movie franchise).

Kun fan ikaw ka anime/manga, manami-an ikaw ka film. Waay duro gamo ang plot kag characters. Wholesome kag heart-warming, daw mahidlaw kaw man sa imo nagligad nga high school (imaginary) romance.

Attack on Titan (2015)

Ang dya nga film kun fan ikaw ka anime/manga (which I am)... mang alang-alang ikaw maglantaw. Let's just say that it's not the best live-action adaptation but it has its merits. They tried. Really hard.

Miura portrayed Eren Yeager, a young man who dreams of one day leaving the walls. Older and less angsty tana nga Eren gi compared sa anime-Eren nga matyagan ko gaasgad tilaok ko mamati sa ana puga-it..

The film blends elements of horror and science fiction into a classic hero’s journey that sends Eren into the afterlife, only to be reborn as a colossal saviour of legendary proportions. Kun nasadyahan ikaw maglantaw sa mga naked giants (sans genitalia) running around devouring people then perhaps malingaw kaw sa film. Just don't judge the manga/anime by this movie.
