Asianobela OST Favorites in My Playlist

Ang akon music playlist over the years may be roughly categorized into the following: Highschool Nostalgia (mainly 90s - early 2000s music), Flavio's Choice (mainly 60s-80s music nga default playlist ni tatay embedded in our brains when we were growing up), and Original Soundtracks from movies, tv/drama series & animes. Waay ako hinalung-ong sa kung ano man ang bag-o kag sikat nga kanta or music artist, not even ang latest sa TikTok. Ang man-an ko lang, basta nasadyahan ang talinga amo dun dan.

I'm tone deaf actually... ang classic bala nga bisan panguy-ab lang, libagon pa. But syempre, it does not stop me from singing off key at the top of my lungs whenever I feel like it. Ang nanami-an ko kantahon ang mga indi ko mamitlang hay indi ko maintindihan ang lyrics. Insa nanami-an gid ako mamati sa mga amo dya nga kanta? Hay raku ako makuti nga iban without being distracted by the words. That is why sampat gid ang mga asianobela ost para ka nakon, especially when I'm working on papers or reading. Para indi lang matuyo.

Ang drama watching experience nga daan is very much influenced by the music kag soundtrack...they could either enhance or destroy the moment. Gakumod gid dayon ang laon kun waay gasanto ang pirang nahot nga English lyrics sa mood ka drama... dyang matirohay dun sanda, "It's a beautiful feeling what we got deep inside..." ang kanta sa background?! Ever since nalantawan ko dya nga lakorn (which I continue to re-watch again and again, a thousand times over!), nag download gid ko dayon ka soundtrack so I could ruin the songs in my off-key singing. Mabati-an ko gani ang first few notes, matyagan ko transported ako sa Ayutthaya during the reign of King Narai The Great (1656–1688) also known as King Ramathibodi III, the last monarch of the Prasat Thong Dynasty... nagapamayong samtang nagasakay sa bangka kag nagapanghangaw-hangaw sa (mga mapagros nga munogbugsay) palibot because every view is a feast.

I was a goner the minute I reached episode 10 of this 58 episode xianxia... pareho sa Bhuppae Sanniwat, ginsulit-sulit ko man dya lantaw. Amo dya ang pinakauna ko nga webnovel nga nabasahan and I read two versions of the English translations..plus the fanfic! May other worldly appeal ang plot and the characters... Gani it is but natural lang nga nalumay man ako ka soundtrack. Sa darayon ko nga pamati daw makita ko man ang lawas ko nga gapanakras kang sanga ka peach blossom tree para mag-inom ka wine nga gin himo ni High God Zheyan...

Pillow Book/Eternal Love of Dream

Ang latest addition ko sa mga permanent fixtures sa akon playlist. Obviously expected duman dya based on the way I obsessed over TMOPB and my unhealthy "stanning" of the Dong Hua Dijun-Bai Feng Jiu pair. Ang drama nga dya is an adaptation of the second book of the Three Lives Three Worlds trilogy ni Tangqi Gongzi which I also read and re-read a million times over. Manami dya pamati-an kun gusto mo mag emote-emote over your unrequited loves or mga tragic love stories over different lifetimes.

Spoiler alert: happy ending ang drama so it's a pay-off sa mga nag-unong...
